Account and data deletion
Every OwnerSwitch account holder can request deletion in the app or without reinstalling it. The request enters a monitored process; temporary deactivation is not treated as deletion. The current Day-1 app prepares drafts only and does not send texts or calls.
Current deletion procedure: policy version 2026-08-29-review-draft-v1 is approved for personal-account deletion. A request still remains pending until every verified completion condition below is satisfied.
Delete your personal account
In the app, a workspace member opens More → Setup → Account & privacy → Delete my account and confirms twice. A signed-in person with no workspace uses the blank slate's direct Account & privacy → Delete my account path and confirms twice. These options are available to owners, admins, operators, and viewers, as well as signed-in people who have not joined a workspace. If you no longer have the app, email support@ownerswitch.com from the sign-in address. We may reverify that you control the account, but we do not require a phone call or a general support conversation to start the request.
Personal-account deletion removes the authentication account and personal profile, disables the person's access in every OwnerSwitch workspace, deletes private preferences and usage identifiers, and de-identifies attribution that a business must retain in shared records. A non-owner cannot delete a shared business workspace.
Owners: delete the business workspace too
An active owner may separately request deletion of the workspace and its tenant-scoped customer, work, draft, and stored-file data. If the requester is the only owner, personal deletion waits for an approved ownership transfer or completion of the workspace-deletion plan so the business is not left with an inaccessible account.
Timing and completion
Under this approved deletion policy, active account data is targeted for verified deletion within 30 days. Backup copies expire after 35 elapsed days (840 hours) from verified active-system deletion. A request remains pending until active deletion is verified; backup expiry is independently verified after 35 elapsed days (840 hours) from verified active-system deletion; Clerk/authentication deletion is verified; the final notice is successfully issued; and a policy-bound, bounded completion receipt binds all evidence.
What may be retained
OwnerSwitch retains only records required for security, fraud prevention, legal obligations, disputes, or a business's legitimate shared records. Retained records are minimized or de-identified, and the completion notice identifies the retained category and reason. Account freezing is never represented as deletion. Where a service provider holds affected data, OwnerSwitch requests deletion there too and does not claim completion without verified evidence.
Customers and message recipients
If a separately activated future messaging pilot asks OwnerSwitch to process your data and you want it removed, email privacy@ownerswitch.com. Name the business involved and include only the minimum information needed to locate your records. Consent and opt-out records may be retained when needed to honor suppression and prove compliance.
What not to send us
Never email passwords, authentication codes, full customer histories, government identifiers, or payment card information. We will never ask for them.
Requests are supervised by a person. The request screen and this page are intake paths, not evidence that deletion is complete. OwnerSwitch confirms only steps backed by the approved plan and completion receipt.
