Terms of service

The current Day-1 app is an invited workspace for reviewing already-stored first-reply drafts and starting internal invoice drafts from the owner's own jobs. An authorized owner/admin may manually add a contact and save owner-written first-reply text for review, but the app does not ingest or transmit provider messages. Starting an internal invoice draft does not contact Stripe; the app cannot create a payment link, finalize, or send an invoice. The shop keeps its existing business phone and sends manually outside the app. Sections below about customer messaging apply only to a separately approved future messaging pilot, not the current store binary.

1. What OwnerSwitch is

OwnerSwitch is a product brand owned and operated by Thorton LLC, a California limited liability company. The current Day-1 binary lets an authorized user enter an invited workspace, review first-reply drafts, and start internal invoice drafts from the owner's own jobs. An owner/admin may manually add a contact and save owner-written first-reply text for review; that creates no provider message or customer effect. Starting an internal invoice draft does not contact Stripe. The app cannot create a payment link, finalize, or send an invoice. It does not provision a number, ingest live SMS or calls, transmit provider messages, or place calls. If an already-existing Stripe-hosted invoice URL is present, the owner may open it in the external browser; OwnerSwitch does not collect card details, set prices or tax, or create the link. The business remains responsible for the context it supplies, the drafts it reviews, any manual send through its existing business phone, and the work it performs.

2. The human-approval rule

A Day-1 review action records the authorized user's decision only. It creates no provider command, outbox item, delivery authority, automatic carrier or 10DLC confirmation, or customer-facing effect. OwnerSwitch does not send business-initiated customer messages autonomously, and the current binary does not send them after review either. The owner remains the sender and acts manually outside the app.

3. Future messaging pilot only

  • If a separately approved future messaging pilot is activated, messaging is optional and governed by consent that can be revoked at any time (reply STOP, unsubscribe link, or the opt-out form). Revoking consent doesn't affect the right to do business by phone or in person.
  • Message and data rates may apply only to that future pilot. See the SMS program terms.
  • Your contract for electrical or other work is with the business alone. OwnerSwitch isn't a contractor, doesn't perform or supervise work, and doesn't guarantee any quote, schedule, permit outcome, or workmanship.
  • An already-existing hosted invoice URL may open outside the app. OwnerSwitch cannot create, finalize, or send it, and payment remains between the customer, the business, and the external processor.
  • Never use messaging for emergencies. If you have an electrical emergency, call 911 or your utility.

4. If you're a business using OwnerSwitch

  • Access only customer and work context you are authorized to review in the invited workspace.
  • Review every draft. Drafts are suggestions and may be wrong; a review decision does not send them.
  • If you manually communicate through your own business channels, comply with applicable consent, opt-out, privacy, safety, and professional obligations. Day-1 does not enforce provider or carrier eligibility for that outside-app action.
  • You must be a properly licensed contractor where required and keep your business facts (license number, service area, prices) accurate in your operating pack.
  • Do not represent the current binary as an activated messaging, calling, invoicing, payment, or 10DLC service.

5. Acceptable use of this website

Don't abuse the forms (no automated submissions, no submitting other people's contact information without authority), probe the service for vulnerabilities except through our disclosure process (security@ownerswitch.com), or misrepresent who you are. We rate-limit and block abuse.

6. Intellectual property

The site, product, and their content are ours or our licensors'. Your business data remains yours; conversations belong to the business-customer relationship they came from. You give us the limited license needed to operate the service - nothing more.

7. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is." We don't warrant uninterrupted operation or that stored drafts are error-free - that's why a person reviews them. Nothing on this site is legal, financial, engineering, or safety advice.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Thorton LLC isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for claims relating to the website is capped at $100; for invited businesses, the cap in the signed pilot agreement applies instead. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability that can't lawfully be limited.

9. Governing law and disputes

California law governs, and disputes go to the state or federal courts of Orange County, California. Before filing anything, email us - most problems are fixable in a week.

10. Changes

We may update these terms; material changes get posted here with a new effective date and, for subscribing businesses, direct notice. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance.
