You texted a business. Here's who - and what - is texting back.
Some local businesses use OwnerSwitch to keep up with customer messages. This page explains, in plain terms, what that means for you.
The short version
- You're talking to the business. After activation, the managed pilot number is mapped to the named business and its authorized people can review the tenant-scoped conversation.
- AI may help write replies. After the model gate is approved, bounded context may be used to prepare a draft for the business.
- A person approves before anything is queued. The owner (or someone they authorize) reads the substantive draft, can change it, and has to approve the exact text. Approval does not mean it was sent or delivered.
- You can stop any time. Reply STOP to any text for the fastest direct opt-out path. Reply HELP for help. The web opt-out form can also record the request if we can verify the business code and accept it.
What a typical exchange looks like
Synthetic Electric: Hi Maria, thanks for reaching out about the outlets in your kitchen. Can you send a photo and tell me when the issue started? I’ll review it and reply with the next step. - Mike (sent via OwnerSwitch; a person reviews every business reply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.)
This is a synthetic example. It illustrates a bounded draft from the original inquiry and an approved request for missing information. Mike reviews and approves the final text before it can be queued; provider acceptance and delivery are separate later outcomes.
What the status words mean
- Approved - an authorized person approved the exact message.
- Queued - the approved message is waiting to be sent.
- Provider accepted - the messaging provider accepted the send request; the phone may not have received it yet.
- Delivered - a later verified delivery receipt says the message reached the carrier's delivered state.
What it will do
- Prepare customer-care replies about inquiries, active-work updates, and bounded requests for missing information.
- Flag urgent or unsafe-sounding language - like a burning smell at an electrical panel - for human review. It does not diagnose or autonomously send safety advice.
What it won't do
- No marketing campaigns in Release 1. The product scope and pilot terms prohibit bulk messaging, promotions, and messages unrelated to a customer inquiry or active work.
- No pretending to be human. If AI helped write a message, we don't hide it - that's why you're on this page.
- No substantive business sending without a human. Only narrow, fixed consent or opt-out confirmations may be automatic, and those compliance messages are recorded.
- No selling your info. Your messages belong to your conversation with that business. We don't sell personal information. Details in the privacy policy.
If something looks wrong
If a message seems off - wrong price, wrong address, something that doesn't sound like the person you hired - reply and say so, or call the business directly at the same number. A person reads what you send. You can also reach us at support@ownerswitch.com or through the contact page, and we'll route it to the business and look at what happened on our side.
How to stop messages
- Reply STOP to any text - it is the fastest direct path and you'll get one final confirmation text, as carriers require.
- Use the web opt-out form - no login needed, but the request takes effect only if we can verify the business code and accept it.
Stopping messages never affects your right to service. You can always just call the business.
